Terms and Conditions of Sale
1. General
These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings, catering services, private events, dining experiences, food sales, and related services provided by Chef Rulo Ltd ("Chef Rulo", "we", "our", or "us").
By placing an order, booking an event, purchasing tickets, or accepting a quotation, the client agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
Any variation to these Terms and Conditions must be agreed in writing by Chef Rulo.
2. Bookings and Deposits
All bookings are subject to availability.
Private events, catering services, and exclusive bookings may require a non-refundable deposit to secure the date.
A booking is considered confirmed only once the required deposit has been received and written confirmation has been issued by Chef Rulo.
3. Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, invoices are payable within fourteen (14) days of the invoice date and in all cases prior to the event date.
For private events and catering services, full payment must be received no later than seven (7) days before the event unless otherwise agreed.
Chef Rulo reserves the right to suspend or cancel services where payment has not been received by the due date.
Late payments may incur interest at a rate of 8% above the Bank of England base rate, together with any reasonable recovery costs permitted by applicable law.
4. Cancellation Policy
Public Events and Dining Experiences
Tickets are generally non-refundable.
Where cancellation is made at least seven (7) days before the event, Chef Rulo may, at its discretion, offer a credit note or transfer to another available event.
No refunds will be issued for cancellations made less than seven (7) days before the event, no-shows, or late arrivals.
Private Catering and Events
- More than 30 days before the event: deposit retained, remaining balance refunded.
- Between 14 and 30 days before the event: 50% of the agreed event value payable.
- Less than 14 days before the event: 100% of the agreed event value payable.
Chef Rulo reserves the right to retain any costs already incurred in preparation for the event.
5. Guest Numbers
Final guest numbers must be confirmed at least seven (7) days before the event.
The confirmed number shall be used for invoicing purposes.
Any increase in guest numbers is subject to availability and may result in additional charges.
6. Dietary Requirements and Allergies
Clients are responsible for informing Chef Rulo of any dietary requirements, allergies, intolerances, or religious restrictions no later than seven (7) days before the event.
While Chef Rulo takes reasonable precautions to accommodate dietary requirements, all food is prepared in kitchens that handle common allergens, including but not limited to nuts, dairy, gluten, eggs, sesame, fish, shellfish, and soy.
Chef Rulo cannot guarantee the complete absence of allergens and accepts no liability for allergic reactions where adequate notice has not been provided.
7. Menus and Product Availability
Menus are subject to seasonal availability and market conditions.
Chef Rulo reserves the right to substitute ingredients or menu items of equivalent quality where necessary due to supplier shortages or circumstances beyond our control.
Any significant menu changes will be communicated to the client whenever reasonably possible.
8. Event Delays and Force Majeure
Chef Rulo shall not be liable for delays, cancellations, or failures to perform caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Extreme weather conditions
- Fire, flood, or natural disasters
- Utility failures
- Transport disruptions
- Government restrictions
- Strikes or labour disputes
- Supplier failures
In such circumstances, Chef Rulo will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the service or event.
9. Liability
Chef Rulo's liability shall be limited to the amount paid by the client for the relevant service.
Chef Rulo shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss, including loss of profits, business interruption, or reputational damage.
Nothing in these Terms shall exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any liability that cannot be excluded under United Kingdom law.
10. Alcohol
Where alcohol is supplied, consumed, or brought onto a venue, all guests must comply with applicable licensing laws and venue regulations.
Chef Rulo reserves the right to refuse service to any person who appears intoxicated, abusive, or presents a risk to the safety or enjoyment of others.
11. Photography and Marketing
Photographs and videos may be taken during public events for promotional purposes.
Guests who do not wish to appear in promotional materials should notify Chef Rulo before the event.
12. Complaints
Any complaint regarding food, service, or event delivery must be notified to Chef Rulo as soon as reasonably possible and, in any event, within seven (7) days of the event date.
Chef Rulo shall be given a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve the matter.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed exclusively by the laws of England and Wales.
Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
